OUR PHILOSOPHY
In terms of eating disorders we believe in a whole-person and holistic approach to treatment. It includes all the different aspects of emotional, intellectual, physical, relational, and spiritual well-being.
“The whole-person approach is not a quick fix. It is a long-term, life-changing strategy for recovery and healing. It recognizes our complex nature as people and strives for health and balance in all aspects of our lives” Jantz, 2005:2.
The mind and the body are intensely connected; unconscious psychological conflicts and past traumatic experiences often present in the form of emotional, physical and behavioural symptoms such as eating disorders, anxiety, skin diseases, migraine, sleeping problems, anxiety, compulsive behaviour, PTSD and forms of dependency.
We believe in healthy thinking patterns for healthy emotions and healthy behaviour.
We create a non-judgemental environment and a safe space to promote self-knowledge, self-appreciation, and a love of ALL you are.
We embrace a healthy lifestyle that includes understanding the importance of optimum nutrition, development of mindful thinking, healthy boundaries and to stay motivated towards emotional balance.
“Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”.
(Jacuelyn Ekern - President Eating Disorders, USA.)
